Ratings & Performance Policy
Rating Scale (Out of 10)
Ratings are given by clients after project completion on a scale of 1-10. Higher ratings reflect better performance, timeliness, and quality.
Poor performance / Major issues
Delayed / Significant issues
Satisfactory / Minor issues
Good / On-time delivery
Excellent / Exceeded expectations
How Ratings Are Calculated
Ratings are averaged over all completed projects to give a fair overall score. We use a weighted average formula that considers all previous ratings, ensuring that a single project doesn't drastically change your rating. As you complete more projects with high ratings, your overall rating improves gradually.
Formula
New Overall Rating = ( (Old Overall Rating × Number of Previous Projects) + New Project Rating ) / (Number of Previous Projects + 1)
Note: Initial rating starts at 5.0 (neutral) for new contractors with no projects.
Example Calculation
- Starting Point: Contractor has 3 completed projects with overall rating of 7.0
- New Project: Client gives rating of 9.0
- Calculation: New Rating = (7.0 × 3 + 9.0) / 4 = (21 + 9) / 4 = 30 / 4 = 7.5
- Result: Overall rating improves from 7.0 to 7.5. More high-rated projects will continue to boost the score.
How Ratings Impact Contractors
Ratings are given by clients after project completion and significantly affect future opportunities:
- Average rating below 5.0 may lead to reduced eligibility for high-value tenders
- Repeated low ratings (below 4.0) can result in increased scrutiny or temporary restrictions
- Very low or consistent poor performance may lead to suspension
- High ratings (above 8.0) unlock premium tenders and better visibility
- Ratings contribute to overall reputation score, influencing client selections
Penalty Scenarios
- EMD cheque bounce → Immediate financial penalty and rating deduction of 1.0 point
- Work abandonment / major delay → Blacklisting for a defined period and rating reset to 1.0 for that project
- Fraudulent documents / misrepresentation → Permanent blacklisting and account termination
- Repeated poor performance → Subscription suspension or account disablement after 3 consecutive low ratings (below 4.0)
Transparency & Fairness
- All ratings are visible to the contractor with detailed feedback
- Contractors can respond to ratings with comments or dispute unfair reviews (admin reviewed)
- Extreme ratings (1-3 or 9-10) are reviewed by admin for fairness
- Ratings contribute to overall contractor reputation score
- Platform maintains a minimum of 3 ratings before displaying public averages
